Spring 2015

Also we have a great opportunity for Year 5 and 6 to gain credits by completing this quiz at this link below.

Summer 2015

So hurray!! Pupils had gained 30 credits and were able to attend the first GRADUATION CEREMONY 2015.

A wonderful day was had by all and there really wasn’t a dry eye in the house when certificates were given out.

Of course we had to go outside and throw our caps in the air which was great fun and was all the more wonderful because of the beautiful setting of the University grounds and of course the sunshine helped too!

Autumn 2015

So another academic year is upon us and we are looking forward to enabling our new Year 5s to participate in Childrens University with each pupil receiving their very own passport too. Don’t forget Year 5’s (and 6!!) to take your passport with you when you participate in any school club as well as other accredited activities you do out of school.

Summer 2016

WOW! What a wonderful response again to the challenge that is Childrens University. Attaining enough hours and therefore credits to achieve each level is such an accomplishment. And yet so many of our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils did just that!

SO off we went again to Lancaster University to attend the very exciting Graduation Ceremony. Congratulations again to all those children and their families that were there and continued success to all those who participate in extra curricular activities to further their learning.

Autumn 2016

Sad announcement – Due to a withdrawal of funding, it is with great regret that we announce our cessation of St Wilfrid’s participation in Childrens University.

It has been a wonderful experience for everyone who took part and we have learnt a great deal from it all.

Good news however!!! We have sat down to consider if it would be possible to put in place within school a similiar ‘in-house’ experience. Therefore for the current Year 6’s we are endeavouring to have a St Wilfrid’s Values Diploma which will have certain themes and structures familiar to those who took part in the Childrens University project. So more news to follow, as soon as we know. Many thanks again to all those pupils and their families who supported our endeavours with Childrens University and we very much look forward to undertaking the exciting venture that will be our Values Diploma!
